Howard County Fatal Car Accident Claims Three Lives
On Thursday, October 25, 2012, a Chevrolet Impala was traveling north bound on Route 1 in Elkridge, according to The Baltimore Sun. A tractor trailer traveling south bound attempted to make a left turn across the north bound roadway. It appears to investigators that the speeding Chevy struck the side of the tractor trailer.
Killed were Degly Ubaldo Monroy Melendez, 20, who police said was driving the car, and brothers Carlos Osorio, 25, and Oscar Osorio, 31. Police said Carlos was sitting in the front of the car and that Oscar was sitting behind him in the back. All three are from Hyattsville.
Semi Truck Accident Results in Fatal Car Accident
Howard County Police reported that there were three unknown men deceased inside the Chevy. The driver of the tractor trailer, a 58-year-old male, was uninjured. Route 1 was closed in both directions for an undetermined period of time.
Just because a passenger was riding in a car with a driver who was at fault does not mean that the passenger, or the passenger’s family, may not still have a claim. If the driver was at fault in causing the fatal car accident, then the passengers may be able to recover. If your loved one died in a fatal car accident, you may have a claim for the funeral expenses; medical bills; lost income; and the grief from losing the person you loved who was the victim of a fatal car accident.
