Fatal Car Accident Involves Hit-and-Run Driver
On September 29th, around 8:30 p.m., Prince George’s County police officers responded to the intersection of Silver Hill Road at Suitland Road for a call of a person lying in the roadway, according to the county police department. Upon arrival, officers found Michael Eugene White, 55, suffering from trauma consistent with a vehicle collision. White was pronounced dead on scene.
Driver Leaves Scene of Fatal Car Accident
Prince George’s County police reported that its preliminary investigation revealed White was walking along the northbound shoulder of Silver Hill Road when at some point he entered the roadway in front of the striking vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping and rendering assistance. The vehicle is described as a white Chevrolet Impala that may have front-end damage. Investigators are seeking information about the car or would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed or been in the area at the time of the collision.
